Hawaiian Airlines said it will introduce a new collection of amenity kits and travel products at the end of November.  The collection is named ‘Ēkaha – Hawaiian for black coral and represents thriving coral as well as the bird’s nest fern, which indicates a healthy rainforest – alluding to the relationship between land and sea, and was designed by Kealopilo, the airline said.

Passengers traveling on international flights as well as to and from Boston and New York City will receive a canvas clutch amenity kit with a coral print and a coconut shell button.  The clutch will come in two different colors.  Those traveling in the airline’s Extra Comfort premium-economy lite section will receive a natural felt pouch with a wooden tag engraved with the ‘Ēkaha story.

The kits will include a bamboo comb, a sleep mask, tissues, a bamboo toothbrush with charcoal bristles, toothpaste, sunscreen, earplugs, and Loi’s body lotion, lip balm, and hydrating mist.  Those passengers on international flights as well as to and from Boston and New York City will also receive the airline’s slipper socks.

As part of the airline’s efforts to reduce the use of single-use plastics, the kits will use paper packaging throughout.

Finally, those traveling in coach on international flights, and in the first-class cabin on North American red-eye flights to the mainland and on flights to Papeete, the capital of Tahiti, and to Pago Pago, the capital of American Samoa, will receive a paper pouch with a coral print design.  The pouch will include earplugs, earbuds, and a sleep mask.

Founded in 2006 as an eco-conscious manufacturer of t-shirts that reflected Hawaiian culture, Kealopilo offers a full line of men’s and women’s clothing as well as accessories and pareus.
